Naples Pastries

1–2 minutes

It was cheaper to stop at Naples than to fly straight to Sicily, so I took advantage of the scenario and am visiting the Almafi Coast.

On my way to the coast, I decide to stop at a pastry shop so I don’t get too hungry on the journey. I visited a place near Napoli Garibaldi; it is called Sfogliate calde Attanasio.

It appears to be very popular. I order whatever looks intriguing: two of the pastries come from the oven, the other two come from the display case.

The very flaky one in the bottom right is called “sfogliatella” – the pastry’s texture is meant to resemble stacked leaves. The tall muffin looking one is called “babà al rum” – it is very drenched in rum. Please enjoy my expert culinary review of the pastries.
