The region is well known for their lemons.

A list of all the lemon treats I consumed during my time on the Almafi coast (in no specific order).

Delizia a limone

The name means “lemon delight,” and I was extremely delighted by this treat. It is a sponge cake filled with lemon cream, brushed in lemoncello, and covered in lemon cream icing. It was perfectly balanced and truly the best.

Pasta al limone

I was at a table with a couple from California. The woman was German and the man was Greek. He insisted that the lemon pasta she makes at home is much better. She agreed with him. This was my first time trying lemon pasta so it was the worst pasta and also the best lemon pasta that I had ever tried.

Lemon sorbet in a lemon

It definitely had a tourist factor about it, but it was delicious.

Lemon Spritz

Like an aperol spritz, but with lemoncello instead. It was sweet and lovely. I find an aperol spritz to be too bitter, so lemon spritz are more my scene.

Sentiero dei limoni gelato

A gelato named for “The Path of the Lemons” that had lemon and white chocolate. It was pretty good. I paired it with a gelato called “Tramanto Positano” because they both felt like exciting local flavors.

Lemon juice

I accidentally ordered an entire glass of lemon juice. For some reason I thought it was going to be lemonade. It was actually pretty good.

Linguini al Pesto Almafitano

Another lemon pasta, but this one is a lemon pesto! I had to ask the owner for some more salt to add to it. He comes to the table with salt and olive oil and cheese and mixes my pasta for me. The pasta was very nice after that.

Lemoncello

I enjoyed it a few times, usually after a meal. One time, I even had a random man buy it for me.

Fogliolino

So incredible! A liquor like lemoncello, but more delicious and complex. It is made from the leaves of the lemon. The owner gave me the recipe, and I plan to make it when I return home.

Lemonade and lemon marmalade

I got duped into ordering and buying a lemonade at a place on “the path of the lemons.” They were selling marmalade as well. The marmalade was quite good, so I bought a jar.

Lemon soda

I bought this so I could sit at the cafe table. It was nice.

Granita al limone

An amazingly refreshing treat! I ordered it quite a few times. My favorite one was the one I ordered half lemon, half melon.

There were so many other lemon-based treats that I could have tried, but I didn’t want to go too overboard!
